Rahul-GandhiOdisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Oct 15: All-India Congress Committee vice-president Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit areas affected by cyclone Hudhud in Odisha’s southern districts on October 20.According to party sources in Bhubaneswar, Gandhi is likely to visit cyclone affected areas in the districts of Gajapati, Koraput and other areas.The Congress vice-president will visit south Odisha after his tour of the areas badly ravaged by Hudhud in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.The storm had crossed the coast near Visakhapatnam on October 12er and had hit several districts in Andhra Pradesh before entering into southern Odisha region damaging thousands of thatched houses and damaging large areas of crops.Apart from Gajapati and Koraput, people were also affected by the severe cyclonic storm in Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi. Hundreds of trees were uprooted in southern Odisha and power sector was also hit in the State.The damages, however, were enormous in coastal Andhra.Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made an aerial survey of the Hudhud-hit areas of Odisha during his aerial survey of the affected areas of Andhra on Tuesday.Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also made aerial survey of the affected areas in southern Odisha on Tuesday.Patnaik had also landed at Rayagada and Koraput to review of the ongoing relief and restoration work.
