Bhubaneswar: The annual Rajarani music festival, one of the famous festivals of Odisha showcases the glorious tradition of Indian classical music, will begin at the Rajarani temple here on Thursday evening.

The three-day festival is being organised by the State Tourism Department in association with Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy and Odisha Tourism Development Corporation.

The festival will be held from January 18 to 20 at the Rajarani temple from 6 pm to 8.30 pm. Each evening will have two presentations by different artists.

The first evening will feature instrumental music presentation by Ramesh Chandra Das (violin) and Srinibas Satapathy (flute). The second programme of the evening will be carnatic vocal by Sanjay Subrahmanyan.

The second evening will see Odissi vocal by Matruprasad Das and Himanshu Sekhar Swain, and instrumental by Vkku Vinaykram (Ghattam).

The third and last evening of the festival will feature Hindustani vocal by Sanjeev Abhyankar, and carnatic instrumental by Ganesh and Kumaresh (violin).

The music festival will be telecast live on DD Bharati every evening. It will also be live streamed in www.webcast.gov.in.
