Paradip: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy has emphasised on role of Paradip Port Trust (PPT) in the economic development of the State.

“Investments to the tune of Rs. 7,000 crore in the ongoing projects at the Paradip Port will lead to the economic development of the Odisha,” said Tripathy during his visit to this port town on Saturday.

Tripathy also visited the state-of-the-art Sewage Treatment Plant. The construction of the plant is now at pre-commissioning stage.

The Chief Secretary appreciated the commitment of the Port Authority and working culture among PPT employees under the leadership of Rinkesh Roy, Chairman, PPT.

Earlier, Tripathy was given a warm welcome on his arrival at the Wet Basin by Chairman, PPT. Thereafter, he visited the state-of-the-art Dry Fog System installed at the Mechanised Coal Handling Plant.

He also inaugurated planting of 1 lakh saplings and beautification of the township entry.

In the evening, Tripathy reviewed the activities of Paradip Port in a high level meeting, wherein the PPT Chairman outlined the issues and presented the updates for discussion.
