Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar: A team of overseas customers from Messrs Daewoo International, South Korea and Messrs Gunung Steel Corporation, Indonesia, visited Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) on Tuesday.The team interacted with G.S.Prasad, CEO, RSP, in his office.It is noteworthy that the customers form these companies are procuring slabs from RSP’s new continuous caster for their steel plants in Indonesia and other South East Asian countries.They had placed an order of 11,000 tonnes of slabs on RSP which has already been serviced.The processing of another order for 20,000 tons of slabs is going on and despatch will start very soon.An additional order of 16,000 tonnes is also expected from them in the near future.The team of visitors include Tony Taniwan, BOD, Gunung Steel Corporation, Ashari Taniwan, BOD, Gunung Steel Corporation, Jung Seo Park, Marketing Director (Steel Business), Daewoo International, Biplab Kumar Dutta, COO, Gunung Steel Corporation, Seongdae Kim, Daewoo International and Ko Young Choon.Later, the visiting dignitaries went to the model room of HRDC, where they were briefed about the steel plant and the steel township.Thereafter, they visited the New Continuous Caster at the Steel Melting Shop-II and witnessed the process of production of slabs.The team of customers also attended an interaction session with the senior officers of the plant.The meeting was presided over by Ashwini Kumar, ED (Works).The valued customers expressed happiness over the quality of products that are ready for despatch and gave positive indications that they would place more orders in the near future.They have also assured of a long term business relationship with Rourkela Steel Plant.
