Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Sep 11: As criticism was growing against his government as well as his Biju Janata Dal in the wake of the CBI probe into the chit fund scam, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced yet another scheme named after his father and former Chief Minister late Biju Patnaik.The new scheme named as Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana aims to convert all kutcha houses into pucca houses in rural areas of Odisha.A sum of Rs.3,000 crore will be spent under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana in phases annually.The existing ‘Mo Kudia’ scheme has been merged with the new scheme, according to an official release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office.The houses to be built under the new scheme will be sanctioned in the name of women of the household.The Chief Minister had announced the Biju Expressway project recently.A series of other schemes had been named after Biju Patnaik by the Naveen Patnaik Government in the recent years.
