Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today undertook aerial survey of the southern Odisha districts that were affected by cyclone Hudhud on Sunday.While Modi made aerial survey of the affected areas of Odisha during his aerial survey of the worst-hit areas in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, Patnaik flew over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri by a separate helicopter by flying from Bhubaneswar.Patnaik also landed at some district headquarters towns and reviewed the progress in the relief and restoration work.The Prime Minister, who announced an interim relief of Rs.1000 crore to Andhra Pradesh after making an aerial survey of the affected areas of both north coastal Andhra and Odisha, also declared ex-gratia payment of Rs.2 lakh each from Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for families of each of those killed and Rs.50,000 to the injured.While Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu had sought Central assistance of Rs.2000 crore, Patnaik has not sought any Central assistance so far.Odisha Government is planning to send a memorandum to the Centre after gathering data on the damages caused by the cyclone in the affected districts.
