Odisha Channel Bureau Paradip, May 4: Mechanized Coal Handling Plant (MCHP) of Paradip Port Trust has achieved two records in thermal coal loading performance on May 3 while loading into the vessels MV JS POTOMAC and MV E.R.BILBAO.A record quantity of 41,000 metric tonnes of thermal coal was loaded in a shift of 8 hours surpassing the previous record in a shift of 40,751 metric tonnes loaded on October 21, 2006.Also a record quantity of 1,07,268 metric tonnes of thermal coal was loaded on the day surpassing the previous record of 1,00,127 metric tonnes handled on January 31, 2015.The plant has achieved a loading rate of 3170 tonnes per hour (TPH) against the loading rate of 3000 TPH asked by the vessels.M.T.Krishna Babu, Chairman of PPT and N.Vaiyapuri, Deputy Chairman of PPT expressed their happiness on the achievement and congratulated the officers, employees, workers of PPT and all the stakeholders who contributed for this achievement.
