Rajashree DashJajpur, Aug 16: Four persons were killed and 17 injured as lightning struck at different places in Jajpur district of Odisha on Saturday afternoon.The injured persons, seven of them in serious condition, were been admitted at different hospitals in the district, while four of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.The deceased have been identified as Surendra Das (30) of Brahmachari Patana and Kulamani Das (44) of Kamalpur, both belonging to Dasarathapur, Ananda Chandra Sahu (27) of Kundapatana village and Parikhita Samal (32) of Hinjalkatia village under Dharmasala police station limits in the district.The injured have been admitted to Dharmasala, Aruha, Ahiyas and district headquarters hospitals in the district.Most of the injured are stated to be daily labourers and the lightning struck them while were working in farm lands at different places.
