Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Mar 26: An international non-scheduled charter flight of Air China (Boeing 737) landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here today at 1215 hrs.This flight was directly from Beijing, China and was scheduled to leave for onward journey to Zanzibar (Africa) at 2300 hrs today, according to an official release.Bhubaneswar Airport was awarded the international status in October, 2013 and since then many international non-scheduled charter flights have operated here.Officers from Customs & Immigration department, in addition to AAI, were present to handle the international aircraft movement and all necessary preparations were closely monitored by the Airport Director, Bhubaneswar.Sharad Kumar, Airport Director expressed his satisfaction with the entire operations and hoped to start schedule international operations from Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar very soon, since Airports Authority of India has already made elaborate arrangements by upgrading and re-furbishing the International Terminal, T2.
