Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar: After renowned names like Sadhu Meher, Nandita Das and Nila Mdhab Panda – the Odia artists who have proved their mettle in Hindi film industry and set examples in their respective fields – it is now the turn of critically acclaimed Odia director Chittaranjan Tripathy to showcase his creative talent through his directorial debut.Tripathy has already directed two Odia films namely Dhauli Express and Mukhya Mantri.His first film, Dhauli Express got the Best Film Award by the Government of Odisha in 2007.Both of the films were written, directed and produced by him.However, his films couldn’t do well in the box office for which he had to face financial hurdles.After the two films, Tripathy went to Mumbai and directed some TV serials like Dhund Legi Manzil Humein, Yeh Ishq Hai, Jaaney Pehchaney Se Ajnabee, Mano Ya Na Mano and some episodes of Savdhan India.He also did a guest appearance in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6.The film, Tera Mera Tedha Medha is a romantic comedy, based on planetary disposition.It is the love story of two struggling painters, Rajan and Kamini, narrated from the perspective of Shani and Mangal.Emerging star, Rahul Bagga of Mastram fame is the lead male actor and Geetika Tyagi of One by Two fame is the lead female actor in this film.Apart from writing and directing the film, Tripathy has also co-produced, acted and composed its songs where as Swanand Kirkire has written the lyrics for the film.A multifaceted personality himself, Tripathy is also famous in Delhi’s theatre circle.He is an NSD alumnus.The play Taj Mahal Ka Tender directed by him was stated in Delhi for a long time in 2012 and the Central government had showcased six of his plays in Hasya Rang, an exclusive theatre festival based on comedy and satire.He has composed over 500 songs in various plays.
