Tricolour dishonoured in Odisha town

Odisha Channel Bureau Kendrapara, Nov 6: Police have registered a case against the organisers of a youth Mahotsav on the charge of dishonouring the national tricolour.The Mahotsav was organised on October 31 under the auspices of sports and youth affair department of the Kendrapara district administration.A complaint lodged in this connection charged that the organisers held a dance competition in which the participants performed on the floor with tricolour thrown upon it. A case has been registered in this connection under the provisions of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Act, 2005.The matter is being investigated, according to Kendrapara Police Station Inspector Pramod Kumar Lenka.
