Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, July 11: A two member team of the Kosli Action Committee on Friday urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to set up Kosli Sahitya Akademi and Kosli Sangeet Natak Akademi in the State.The team comprising KAC president Haldhar Nag and secretary Saket Sahu also demanded that steps be taken to impart education in Kosli language to Kosli-speaking students up to Class-V.They also demanded that Kosli language should be given support by the Kendra Sahitya Akademi on the lines of support given to other languages that had not been included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.Nag and Sahu thanked Patnaik for writing to the Centre for inclusion of Kosli language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.BJD legislators Sushant Singh and Devesh Acharya were also present when the Action Committee office-bearers discussed about their demands with the Chief Minister.Kosli, which is also referred to as Sambalpuri, is the mother tongue of about 75 lakh people spread over 10 contiguous districts of Western Odisha.
