Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: Activists belonging to as many as 28 civil society organisations staged a dharna near Raj Bhavan here on Saturday demanding CBI inquiry into land and mining scams in Odisha.The activists also submitted a memorandum to Governor S.C.Jamir seeking his intervention in the matter so that the culprits in the scams would be brought to book by proper investigation by the CBI.While the Shah Commission report had brought the mining scam into the light, the latest report of the Comptroller and Auditor General had exposed about huge illegalities and irregularities in distribution of land to individuals and private organisations in urban area and plots under discretionary quota of the Ministers causing huge revenue loss to state exchequer.They also demanded CBI probe into the land scam at Ghangapatna on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar in which many influential people were allegedly involved.
