Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, May 15: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched mobile application `Mo Sathi’ for the security and safety of women in the twin city of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.Addressing the gathering at the headquarters of the twin city Commissionerate Police here, Patnaik expressed happiness about the various innovative measures being taken by the Commissionerate Police to enhance the security of women in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack“Crimes against women have been a major concern.In this regard, I am glad that the Commissionerate Police is proactively carrying out awareness campaigns and is introducing new schemes in the larger interest of women,” he said.The Chief Minister thanked the Commissionerate police for taking the initiative of evolving an Android mobile application Mo Sathi to aid women in distress.He urged the women of the twin-city to make use of this technology to enhance their own security.He also urged the police to give prompt responses to the women making use of this application and ensure that its use is widespread and successful.A day-long workshop was also organised on the occasion to spread awareness and bring people from all walks of life to a common podium to discuss and deliberate on the various challenges to women’s security and chart a roadmap for the future.Patnaik also issued an appeal to all women present on the occasion that in the face of increasing instances of cyber crimes, cyber space must be used prudently and judiciously.The police must also accord swift and sensitive response to all cases of cyber crimes against women, he added.
