Odisha Channel Bureau Sambalpur, Aug 14: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India under Ministry of Coal (GoI), today signed an MoU with public sector construction major NBCC as another step forward towards setting-up a Medical College at Talcher in Odisha.
The MoU was signed by General Manager (CSR) B.B.Mishra for MCL and V.K.Goel, General Manager (Civil), NBCC, in the presence of A.N.Sahay, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MCL.J.P.Singh, Director (Tech/P&P), P.C.Panigrahi, Director (Personnel) and K.K.Parida, Director (Finance) were prominent among senior officers present on the occasion.The construction work for Rs.492.62 crore 100-seat Medical College at Talcher will commence shortly.The state-of-the-art medical college of MCL on 20 acres of land in Talcher coalfields will have separate academic and residential blocks with 300-bedded boys’ hostel, 200-bedded girls’ hostel, interns’ and nurses hostel.The existing 115-bedded Nehru Shatabdi Central Hospital of MCL in Talcher will be upgraded to 500 beds for the upcoming Medical College.
