Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: The goal of `health for all’ can be achieved by concerted and coordinated efforts of all stake holders, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said here today.Addressing the valedictory session of the Chief District Medical Officers Conference, Patnaik said health sector needs and extremely responsive approach by service delivery personnel.“We have to constantly upgrade the quality and efficiency of services to ensure people’s right to lead a healthy life,” he said.Stating that mother and child health is the number one priority of the State government, Patnaik said the rate of reduction of infant mortality rate (IMR) and maternal mortality rate (MMR) will be the benchmark for evaluation of health administration at the district levels.The CDMOs should ensure disbursement of entitlements under JSY/JSSK and incentives to ASHAs on time, the Chief Minister said, while adding that proper sanitation both within and outside hospital premises is essential.People residing in remote and inaccessible parts of the State need equal attention as people in other areas, Patnaik said.“Proper planning and effective implementation is required to provide appropriate health care services to them.”“As Chief Administrators of our health programmes at district levels, you have the responsibility to carry forward the policies, plans and programmes to achieve our objective – health security to all,” Patnaik told the CDMOs.
