One boy drowns, three go missing

Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: A school boy drowned and three of his friends went missing while bathing in the Barang-Puri main canal at Hunuman Vatika near Barang on the outskirts of the Capital city today.The tragic incident took place around 2 pm when one of the boys was first swept by while bathing in the canal.Though the boy who got first go into trouble was saved, four of the several boys who tried to save him were swept away in the canal.While the body of one student was fished out immediately, efforts were on to trace the three missing students.According to initial reports, about 15 boys from a government school in Rail Vihar locality of the city had gone to the canal riding their bicycles.
