Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel Odisha Utsav 2016 was inaugurated with Art-in-Industry, an art camp-cum-exhibition here today.The event was inaugurated by Odisha Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra in the presence of renowned artist Jatin Das and other dignitaries.
The art camp is aimed at promoting and celebrating the pursuit of art by amateurs, professionals and budding young students by bring everyone on a common platform to learn, discuss and practice art.Sixteen renowned artists of India will showcase their masterpiece in this three-day- long camp.
The highlights of the camp include workshop for art students and interaction with artists.The participation of local artists in the camp will allow the community to enjoy art from a specific region, opening a window to the way of life of the people of their own region.
Besides, school children chosen from across the state through Tata Steel Inter School Art Competition are also participating in the camp and will be learning from the masters and showcasing their talents. Fifty art college students of Odisha are also participating in an art competition being organized on the occasion and will be part of the camp.
Lauding Tata Steel for its efforts towards promoting art and culture, Mishra expressed happiness to see that the leaders in making steel are also focusing on supporting art and literature by organising such events. Jatin Das appealed to the participants to preserve the tradition of excellence in art and culture of this great land.Addressing the artists and the art lovers, he spoke highly about of artistic grandeur of Odisha and promised continued support of Tata Steel to such initiatives in the state in future.
