Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar: All departments of the Naveen Patnaik Government are soon going to use to social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google search etc to establish two-way communication between the government and the citizens.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed al the departments of take appropriate steps for using social media while chairing a high level meeting at the Secretariat here today.Underscoring the importance of social media in connecting to people, Patnaik said that the government, which functions at multiple levels, needs to have prompt interaction with people directly.He also advised the departments to use precise and accurate information on social media.A high level committee will be formed and a consulting agency will be engaged for the purpose.While the IT department will work as the nodal agency, I&PR department will be the content manager for the purpose.Patnaik has already been using Twitter and has over 27,000 followers.
