Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, August 9: Even though his Government has failed to provide relief to lakhs of flood victims, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided not to celebrate Rakhi on Sunday.Patnaik will not observe Raksha Bandhan in view of the flood situation prevailing in the State, sources said on Saturday.The two rounds of floods during this monsoon have so far claimed at least 27 lives in Odisha.The flood situation, prevailing in Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Jajpur districts likely to continue for a couple of days as there was no heavy rainfall on the cards in Chhattisgarh.Meanwhile, rains continued to make the lives of lakhs of flood affected people miserable in coastal Odisha.Flood situation had started improving in the interior districts such as Sambalpur, Subarnapaur, Bargarh and Boudh.Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival that celebrates the love and duty between brothers and sisters; the festival is also popularly used to celebrate any brother-sister like loving protective relationship between men and women who are relatives or biologically unrelated, according to Wikipedia.
