Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: Odisha Tourism has planned a series of programmes to celebrate the World Tourism Day to be celebrated on September 27.The theme of this year is `Tourism & Community Development’.Odisha Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda reviewed the different events and activities to be undertaken within the State at a high level meeting held here today.The morning will kick-start with a Tourism Walk starting from Master Canteen Square to Ekamra Haat via Ram Mandir and with Pink Auto procession from Rupali Square to terminate at Ekamra Haat.Panda will flag off the event at Master Canteen Square at 7 am on September 27.To celebrate the event associating the communities, four roadside platforms will be prepared to showcase the performing art forms of Odisha such as Ghoda Nacha, Sambalpuri dance, Gotipua and Ghoomra.It is also planned to welcome the tourists at airport, railway stations, Sun Temple, Konark and other important places in Odisha by the tourism stakeholders.Different competitions like painting, debate, photography and quiz are being held to commemorate the event.The winners of the different competitions will be awarded at a function to be held at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar at 6 pm on September 27.The event will be followed by a cultural function organised by the Tourism Department Cultural Association, according to official sources.
