N.R.Mohanty given additional charge of NALCO CMD

Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, May 1: N.R.Mohanty, Director (Projects & Technical) of Navratna CPSE National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has been given additional charge of the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the company, following the superannuation of Ansuman Das from today.Mohanty graduated in B.Sc Engg (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela in 1980 and was awarded as best Graduate of Sambalpur University.Mohanty started his career from Larsen & Toubro and worked in BALCO before joining Nalco in 1986.Mohanty has rich and varied experiences of more than 33 years in aluminium industry.Mohanty has worked in various capacities in company’s Smelter Plant and Corporate Office.He has been instrumental in creating new vision and mission plan for the company.Besides, he has also initiated various growth oriented Greenfield projects & Brownfield projects and has successfully steered NALCO into ‘Green Energy’ with the commissioning of wind power projects at Gandikota, AP and Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. He is life member of India Institute of Metals, Fellow member of Institution of Engineers and has been conferred with several awards and recognitions throughout his professional career.
