Rajkumar MohantyPuri, July 15: Sri Jagannath temple servitors and their families would be allowed to have darshan of Nabajouban darshan of the deities, announced temple chief administrator Suresh Chandra Mahapatra.Mahapatra said though a PIL is pending in the state high court over this issue no verdict has come so far.The managing body of the temple has resolved to give this privilege to the servitors and their families on the day of Nabajouban darshan, a day before the Rath Yatra.The decision to deprive the devotees from darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subradra in their new attire, and allowing the temple servitors and their families is likely to trigger fresh controversy, opined many devotees.On the other hand, preparations are in full swing for smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra on July 18.The authorities concerned are reviewing the preparations of the temple administration everyday and asking all concerned to ensure timely completion of the rituals of the deities so that the Rath Yatra would be conducted in time.
