BHUBANESWAR: The second evening of the 13th Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav showcased a beautiful blend of classical dance and music with martial dances at the foothill of Dhauli hills on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday. The audience gathered at the venue was left spellbound.

The programme started with Tala Vadya Vichitra by Guru Dhaneswar Swain and Group. He is an internationally acclaimed Mardala player known for his effortless execution of melodious strokes. Today’s the group performances in music was brilliant in rhythmic compositions and melodious.
Dhauli-Kalinga
The next presentation was Bharatanatyam by Vaibhav Arekar & Group from Mumbai. All their items were dedicated to Lord Shiva. Their first presentation was Shiva Bandana followed by Ardhanariswar, Hari-hara, Shakti, Bhakti and Nataraj.

The dancers narrated the different facets of Shiva in Bharatanatyam style and exhibiting classical skill and talent much to the joy and ecstasy of the audience.

The last programme of the evening was martial dance of Odisha’s Malkangiri distric –`Budhayan’. It was the traditional arts of Kung-fu Guide to Soul. Today’s the dancers fighting techniques, physical exercises and methods of mental discipline are fantastic.

The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Lalit Mansingh, Satyananda Mishra, Priyambada Mohanty Hejmadi, Subas Pani, R. Balakrishnan, Nitin Bhanudas Jawale, Guru Aruna Mohanty, and Guru Ileana Citaristi.
