Odisha Channel Bureau Berhampur, July 18: Top Maoist leader of Odisha Sabyasachi Panda was denied bail by a local court on Friday evening and remanded to judicial custody for a day.Panda was produced before the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate in the town amid tight security where the police sought 14 days police remand for the Maoist leader.While rejecting Panda’s bail plea, the court remanded the accused Maoist to judicial custody for a day.The court was likely to pass its orders on the police petition seeking grant of police remand for two weeks.Panda will be produced before the court again on Saturday when the court will pronounce its orders on the police plea for custody of the Maoist leader.The police had sought Panda’s custody to interrogate him in connection with over 100 cases pending against him in different courts in Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nayagarh and Berhampur.
