odisha-scretariatOdisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Aug 13: Government of Odisha on Wednesday decided to set up model schools in every block of the State on the lines of Central schools.A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here.A sum of Rs.190 crore will be spent for the purpose this year and infrastructure will be developed for as many as 162 model schools during the current financial year, the government said.These schools will impart education from Class-VI to Class-XII and 50 per cent of seats will be reserved for girls.There will be hostels for girl students near these schools, according to an official press release.These model schools will impart education in CBSE pattern.Along with English and Odia, Hindi and Sanskrit language will be taught as additional languages.A special society will be established on the lines of Central Board of Secondary Education, and separate cadre will be created for the teachers of these model schools.Apart from regular teaching, these model schools will have vocational training facility for the students.
