Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar: Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway organised the Divisional Rail Users’ Consultative Committee meeting at Khurda Road on Friday.S.K.Singh, Divisional Railway Manager & Chairman, DRUCC, Khurda Road addressed the members representing various sections of the society and of special interests as well as the representatives of Members of Parliament and apprised them regarding the various developmental measures and passenger amenity works initiated by the Division for the benefit of rail users.The members of the committee put forth various suggestions, recommendations and demands before the meeting such as additional stoppages of trains at more number of stations, increasing frequency of trains, introduction of new trains, provision of additional platform shed at more stations, foot over bridge, opening of additional counters in booking offices, better approach road, drinking water, provision of better amenities to physically challenged persons, punctuality of trains and cleanliness of stations, provision of better quality food by railways/IRCTC, more refreshment stalls, provision of lifts at stations, and replacement of old coaches.The Committee appreciated the role of the Division in heralding new projects related to passenger amenities and congratulated the Railways for taking up renovation/beautification works under passenger amenities at important stations of Khurda Road Division and suggested for improvement, according to an official release.
