Odisha Channel Bureau Paradip, July 9: The introduction of two new weekly train services connecting Paradip port city to Howrah and to Visakhapatnam has been hailed by Paradip port Trust (PPT) authorities. In a press release, S.S.Mishra, Chairman, PPT expressed his gratitude to D.V.Sadananda Gowda, Union Railway Minister; Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Railway; Arunendra Kumar, Chairman, Railway Board; and D.P.Pandey, Member Traffic, Railway Board for improving rail connectivity to the fast-expanding industrial hub like Paradip.Mishra stated that the Railway Board and East Coast Railway were earlier requested to introduce train services from Paradip to Howrah and Visakhapatnam to facilitate direct and comfortable journey of the people residing at Paradip and nearby areas who have to alter trains or avail other modes of transport up to Cuttack or Bhubaneswar while travelling to these cities.PPT chairman also expressed his gratitude to P.Guha, Executive Director (Coaching), of Railway Board; Rajiv Vishnoi, General Manager, East Coast Railway; G.D.Brahma, Chief Operational Manager; D.K.Jha, CPTM, and S.K.Singh, DRM, Khurda of East Coast Railway for their combined efforts for facilitating introduction of these much needed services to the people of Odisha.
