Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar: A massive cleanliness drive has been launched by East Coast Railway at important railway stations under its jurisdiction.Rajiv Vishnoi, General Manager, East Coast Railway directed concerned officials to bring out the visible improvement of cleanliness of platforms, concourse areas, passenger movement areas, yards, and drains including rag picking.The 15-day-drive has been started from June 7 at all the A-1, A & B category stations over ECoR jurisdiction.Modern cleanliness equipments are being used in the drive and the departmental officials under the supervision of Departmental Heads are actively participating in the drive.Similarly, Divisional Railway Managers, Additional Divisional Railway Managers and Divisional Branch Officers have also been directed to inspect the stations and trains etc actively to ensure the improvement of cleanliness.Vishnoi will also conduct surprise checks and strict action will be taken if any laxity found during the drive.Vishnoi also urged all officers of all rank from all the departments to involve themselves in the drive.Bhubaneswar, Puri, Bhadrak, Brahmapur, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road and Khurda Road stations under Khurda Road Railway Division, Rayagada, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram stations under Waltair Division and Sambalpur, Balangir and Bargarh stations under Sambalpur Railway Division of ECoR have been included in the cleanliness drive.East Coast Railway has urged the passengers and rail users to extend co-operation to this drive.Maintaining cleanliness at Railway Station premises is the moral responsibility of everyone for a hygienic and better environment.
