Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: East Coast Railway organised a seminar and interactive session with important stakeholders – ports, PSUs, mines, industries such as coal, steel plants, aluminium, and iron ore – here today.The seminar was organised as part of `TARGET’ (Traffic Augmentation for Required Growth and Enhancement of Throughput.The seminar aimed to devise strategies for enabling growth in the region.Railways are acknowledged as the vehicle of progress, development and growth through better connectivity.Leading lights from the public sector, ports and concerned industries participated in this initiative, according to an official release.The meeting was addressed by General Manager of East Coast Railway Rajiv Vishnoi, who lauded the constructive and positive role of Industries and exhorted them to be a part of the growth momentum.All help from railway side in terms of despatch of stock and further infrastructure development was assured by Vishnoi.The meeting was attended, among others, by Guru Charan Ray, Chief Operations Manager, B.P.Swain, Chief Commercial Manager and Sanjay Mishra, Chief Freight Transportation Manager.All the participating Industries in the meeting laid down their targets and action plan for the current year.Requirement of raw materials and despatch of outward materials, as applicable, was discussed.The seminar became a forum for interaction between all logistic players, including OMC, ports, steel plants, mining groups, aluminium industries, etc.Improved port connectivity through rail was stressed upon by all participating members.
