Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Sep 1: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will lead a Kisan Padyatra in Bargarh district during his two-day visit to Odisha next week to highlight alleged failure of both the Centre and Naveen Patnaik Government in the state in mitigating the plight of farmers.Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan told reporters here today that Rahul Gandhi will visit Odisha on September 10 and 11 and lead a Kisan padyatra in Bargarh district on the first day. The padyatra titled Chasi Bachao Padyatra (Save Farmer March) will be organised in Attabira area of Bargarh district which is witnessing suicide by farmers in the recent months, Harichandan said.Harichandan accused the Naveen Patnaik Government for its failure to respond to the drought situation being faced by the farmers.Congress will highlight the plight of the farmers across the State, he added.On the second day of his visit, Gandhi is likely to visit Sishu Bhavan at Cuttack where more than 50 children have died in less than a week due to poor infrastructure in that paediatrics hospital.
