Sanjeev Marik appointed Odisha DGP

Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, July 5: Senior Indian Police Service officer Sanjeev Marik was on Saturday appointed as the Director General of Odisha Police.He will replace Prakash Mishra.This became clear after the Naveen Patnaik Government shifted Mishra and posted him as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC).Marik is 1981 batch IPS officer who had been working as Special Director General of Police.Earlier, there were reports about Mishra’s possible appointment in the Union Home Ministry.It was not immediately known whether Mishra will be allowed by the State Government to join the Home Ministry.
