Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Mar 16: Two top women Maoists leaders from Chhattisgarh – Phulbati alias Mithila (30) and Rukmati alias Rashmila (28) surrendered before the police in Odisha’s Kalahandi today.The two Maoists surrendered in the wake of the exchange of fire between the Left wing extremists and security personnel in Kalahandi recently.Both were carrying a reward of Rs, 4 lakh each on their head, according to the police.The two belonged to Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh and had joined Maoist organisation in 2006.They were providing leadership as Area Committee Members of Koilibhitar Area Committee in Mainpur Division of the CPI(Maoist).Rukmati was a member of the protection team of Murli, Central Committee Member and Divisional Secretary, Mainpur Nuapada Division, police said.
