Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday proposed Japan to be a partner country in the Make in Odisha Conclave scheduled to be held here in November this year.
The Chief Minister made the proposal when Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to India called on him at the State Secretariat here.
During the meeting, Patnaik told Hiramatsu about the wide scope for investment in food processing, steel, petro chemicals, stainless steel, automobile industry and electronics goods sectors in Odisha, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Patnaik made the proposal for Japanese investment in Odisha while mentioning about the successful visit of a high level Odisha government team to Japan in October last year.
Praising the favourable business environment in Odisha, Hiramatsu said that cooperation in the field of commerce and industry will be strengthened along with the cultural exchanges between Odisha and Japan.
