Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 death toll in Odisha breached the 800 mark on Monday as the State reported 16 fatalities, while 3,235 new cases took the total infection count to 2,12,609.
While the death toll increased to 813 with the demise of 16 persons in the last 24 hours, another 53 persons who had tested positive for COVID-19 had died due to other ailments during their medical treatment so far.
Of the total number of people tested positive in the State since the month of March, 1,73,571 have recovered from COVID-19 and 38,172 persons are under treatment, State Health Department officials said.
The State has conducted 31,59,400 tests till date to detect coronavirus infections till date, officials said.
