Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: Odisha Government today announced that it would fill up about 50,000 vacant posts in different Departments by the end of current financial year 2014-15.A decision in this regard was taken at a high level review meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.Senior officials from Departments having large number of vacancies participated in the meeting.Briefing journalists after the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) U.N.Behera said that the State Government has already started the process for recruitment in 60,937 posts.While 10,000 posts had been filled by now and another 50,000 people would be recruited by the March next, Behera informed.He said the posts were largely vacant in the Departments of School and Mass Education, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Development, Home, Health and Family Welfare, Panchayati Raj, Works, Agriculture, Energy, Water Resources and Women and Child Development.On the issue of appointment of teachers in the backward Koraput-Balangir-Kalahandi region, the meeting resolved to prepare a special policy for early recruitment.It was also decided in the meeting that the Chief Minister would hold a review meeting in this regard every two months, and, Chief Secretary would review the progress every month.
