Odisha Channel Bureau Kendrapara, April 14: An 8-year-old boy was killed today allegedly in a human sacrifice ritual by a tantric in riverside Gokhapada village under Marshaghai police station jurisdiction, about 25 km from here.The mutilated body of 4th standard student Rajesh Nayak with his neck slit was retrieved on the Luna riverbed in the evening.The boy was missing since yesterday and a complaint had been lodged in this connection yesterday.Inspector Marshaghai police station Sukant Kumar Patra quoting the FIR lodged by victim’s mother Purnima Nayak said “the complaint alleged that the boy was last seen with the local tantric.Preliminary investigation insinuates towards possible sacrifice ritual.The neck of the victim boy was slashed by a sharp weapon”.The tantric named in the FIR has been detained.Scientific teams and sniffer dogs have been pressed into service to unravel the mysterious death of the boy.The suspected assailant is being interrogated, Inspector Patra added.A pall of gloom has descended in the nondescript village following the recovery of the victim boy’s mutilated body.
