Bhubaneswar: The Twitter handles of all Departments of the Odisha government are now verified and have a blue check mark badge next to their names.
The blue badge lets the other people know that a particular Twitter account is authentic and not fake.
The Twitter handles of the District Collectors of the State too have achieved this verification. The Twitter handles the Superintendents of Police of most of the districts too have been verified by the social media network.
“Taking forward @MoSarkar5T charter, all the Twitter handles of Odisha Government Departments and all district collectors are verified now. It will further strengthen digital governance, feedback based public service delivery, dissemination of information and grievance redressal,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a tweet on Friday.

The verification of Twitter handles of all Odisha government Departments comes at a time when the State administration is fighting COVIID-19 pandemic.
In fact, the Twitter handles of most of the Department of the State government had few followers till the pandemic started spreading in March.
The followers of these handles, however, grew fast when people started following them to find out what was happening around them, to air their grievances and highlight the problems they were facing.
The grievances of many people are being redressed with the feedback from the people at large, according to officials.
The State government’s Mo Sarkar initiative based on the 5Ts — transparency, teamwork, technology, time and transformation – aims at transforming governance and making it more accountable to the people.
