Jajpur: With the results of Plus Two Arts and Vocational streams declared on Saturday, a girl from Jajpur district has topped the Arts stream in the State by securing 91 percent marks.
Sambhabana Sahoo, a student of Maa Tarini Higher Secondary School at Panikoili in the district has emerged as the State topper by securing 546 marks out of 600.
Sambhabana, daughter of Gopal Chandra Sahoo and Snehalata Sahoo has attributed her success to hard work, self-study and efforts of her teachers in her college and family members.
The result came as a pleasant surprise for her, she said. “I was awestruck with the result and it was hard to believe, as I had not expected it. But I am very much happy,” she said.
She said that she maintained a safe distance from social media and remained focused on her studies. She prepared for the final examination by devoting 10-12 hours a day.
“I shared my happiness and excitement with my parents, relatives and teachers of my higher secondary school soon after the results were announced today afternoon. They have been constantly motivating me to perform better,” she said.
Speaking on her ambition, the youngster said she aspires to be a teacher. “I will pursue graduation with English honours and after that Bachelor in Education to become teacher in future,” she said.
