Odisha Channel Bureau Angul, Sep 23: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), pursuing its CSR mission for propagating preventive and outdoor health care in the periphery villages, organised a mega health camp at Jarada village of Banarpal Block in Angul district.A total of 402 people availed free medical consultation and health check up services and also provided free medicines, as prescribed by the doctors.This mega health camp by the JSPL Foundation, on September 22, 2014 at the premises of Shiva temple of Samanta Sahi in the Jarada Village was organised by the Village Committee and Youth Club of the Village.“JSPL always prioritizes’ community health care’ at the door step for the People living in the vicinity.We are encouraged to conduct such social initiatives owing to the overwhelming participation of the people of Jarada in this mega health camp,” said D.K.Sarangi, Executive Director & Location Head of JSPL, Angul.In the camp, the mobile health unit run by JSPL Foundation extended its service equipped with the expertise of Soumyakant Bisoi, and Ambarish Patra, both medical officers.The village committee members and the senior citizens of the village appreciated this initiative of JSPL Foundation.They also assured to provide long term support for such activities in future.On behalf of JSPL, the CSR&R Team comprising of Ashish Mohanty, Debasish Mohanty, Dibya Jyoti Panda, Tapan Verma, Bishnu Singh, Sangram Mishra, M.Parida, K.P.Singh, Milan Singh, Ashutosh Mishra, and Satyaranjan Mishra coordinated the camp organisations.JSPL, Angul through its CSR initiative has so far conducted 504 mega health camps providing its community health services to 32841 villagers in 34 villages in the periphery.Other flagship health programmes run by JSPL foundation in partnership with the dist administration include Kishori Express to control anemia in adolescent girls in all 321 villages of Banarpal block, HIV AIDS prevention and scanning as per NACO guidelines and installation of more than 150 deep tube wells for ensuring drinking water in 36 villages.
