Heavy rains claim two lives in Odisha

Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Aug 4: Heavy rains and consequent flooding has claimed two more lives in Odisha since Saturday taking the total death toll due to such reasons this monsoon to 17, according to official sources.While a man was swept away in Sambalpur town, a woman was killed when the wall of her mud house in Boudh district collapsed due to incessant rains, State Special Relief Commissioner P.K.Mohapatra said.According to another report, a Kawadia youth was swept away in the flood waters in Keonjhar district.There was no official confirmation about this till Monday evening.The death toll was likely to increase as reports of snake bite had also been reported from a few places.
