Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Sep 6: Days after it admitted encroachment of government land by influential people at Ghangapatna on the outskirts of the Capital city, Odisha Government on Saturday suspended two employees for their alleged involvement in the scam.The two government employees who were placed under suspension are Revenue Inspector of the area concerned and Clerk in Khurda Sub-Collector’s office.The authorities also lodged a complaint with the Chandaka police station against two other government employees for their involvement in the illegal construction of an approach road to the encroached land in Ghangapatna area.The State Government had earlier order asked the Crime Branch of the State police to probe into Ghangapatna land scam.The Government had also directed the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to prepare a Prevention of Land Grabbing Bill within a month.Opposition parties and social activists had demanded a CBI probe into the land scam in and around Bhubaneswar.The Government ordered the Crime Branch probe after admitting that about 76 acres of land was encroached by many people in Ghangapatna area.
