Rajkumar MohantyPuri, June 24: In a ghastly act, a dumb destitute girl was gang-raped in a under construction shop near the Sri Jagannath temple main gate late in the night on Tuesday.According to the police, while the girl was sleeping near the Simhadwar, four persons dragged her to a vacant and under construction shop in the Mangu Mutt and raped her and left.Some locals informed the police.Simhadwar police have registered a rape case and sent the girl for medical examination.The medical report said the girl was found to be three month pregnant and confirmed the rape.Police arrested one Mahavir Rana (26), a daily labourer of Chandanpur village and looking for others.It is learnt that the girl was from Balasore district.The victim was sent to a women’s shelter in the city.
