Sarathi remanded to judicial custody

Odisha Channel Bureau Cuttack, Aug 15: Self-proclaimed godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Kumar Roul was remanded to judicial custody by a local court here today.The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate remanded the accused Baba to judicial custody when he was produced in the court by the Crime Branch of Odisha police on the expiry of his six days’ police remand.The Baba was taken to the Choudwar circle jail after the court remanded him to judicial custody for seven days.The court also rejected the bail application of the Baba, who is now the prime accused in the case registered by the Crime Branch under various Sections of the different laws.During his police remand, the accused Baba was questioned by the Crime Branch in several sessions.The accused was also confronted with many of his associates who had links with the Baba’s wrongdoings.
