Bhubaneswar: Riding on the success of its debut with Marine Drive Eco Retreat at Konark last year, Odisha Tourism’s flagship three-month glamping festival was declared open to bookings by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.
The new logo of the glamping festival, which will be held at five locations this time, was also unveiled, subtly depicting the ecological orientation.
The Eco Retreats Odisha at Bhitarkanika, Daringbadi, Hirakud, Konark and Satkosia are slated to be held from December 8, 2020 to February 28, 2021.
Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik said that last year, a benchmark was set in luxury glamping with a phenomenal success at the Marine Drive Eco Retreat at Konark.
“This time we have scaled it up to five unique locations. The Eco retreats will offer tourists an excellent opportunity to discover Odisha’s diverse tourism offerings, in style,” said Patnaik.
In a note of assurance to tourists from across the country during Covid times, Patnaik said that all stakeholders in tourism and hospitality sector across the State have been provided training on COVID-19 protocols.
Consistent with Odisha’s stellar management of COVID-19 pandemic, the Eco Retreats will be in complete compliance with guidelines and standard operating procedures prescribed by Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, he added.
The Chief Minister urged the respective district administrations to take ownership of the execution of the Eco Retreats.
Raising hope for the pandemic affected tourism and hospitality sector, Patnaik expressed confidence that the Eco Retreats will provide the much-needed fillip to Odisha Tourism and help it revive during this difficult time.
Eco Retreat Odisha will have jungle trails, water sports, boat rides, tours, adrenaline-pumping games, exotic cuisines and unmatched leisure, complying with tourist safety protocols, according to officials.
To book stays, an easy-to-use integrated portal – ecoretreat.odishatourism.gov.in –is available to tourists from across India.
With Eco Retreat 2020, Odisha Tourism brings luxury camps, offering 5-star facilities while under a million stars sky enjoying raw nature, said a Tourism Department official.
