msedOdisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: The Mayurbhanj Socio-Economic Development Project (MSED) supported by Heifer Project International, was formally launched by Bishnupada Sethi, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Fisheries and Animal Resource Development Department here today.The ceremony was hosted by Heifer project International India and was graced by the presence of A.Chandrashekhar, GM, NABARD, V.G.Hegde, DGM, State bank of India and Steve Denne, COO and Executive Vice President for Programs and Mahendra Lohani, Vice-President for Asia and Europe.The seven partners of this project from Mayurbhanj district, UNNAYAN, SECURE, SOOVA, VARD, NYDHEE and SAMBHAND, participated in the event along with some old partners and supporters of Heifer Project International, CEERA.The highlight of the event were the four women from various projects implemented by UNNAYAN and CEERA, who shared their journey – Manani Hansda, Mayurbhanj; Hiramani Hembram, Mayurbhanj; Sumitra Dehuri, Khorda and Jayanti Behera, Khorda.The program started with lighting the lamp by the chief guest and dignitaries.Welcome address by Mahendra Nath Lohani, followed by few words on NABARD Scheme for SHG on Livestock Based Livelihood by A.Chandrasekhar, GM NABARD.Peetambar Kushwaha, Asia Regional Program Manager, GALVmed spoke on the role of GALVmed in MSED Project and V.G.Hegde, DGM SBI conveyed few words of inspiration on financial inclusion and rural lending by SBI for livestock
