Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, July 24: With a vision to helping the minority community in accessing benefits of Central and State Government minority programmes more effectively, the Odisha Minority Forum has launched a dedicated Electronic-Helpdesk.Requests can be sent to the E-Helpdesk at minorityhelpdesk@gmail.com which would monitor requests and provide relevant information as well as documentation in form of requisite application forms, eligibility, procedures and guidelines for accessing the benefits from the concerned minority programmes at no cost, according to a release issued by the Forum. This E-Helpdesk which would be monitored by a dedicated team of volunteers through the year and would provide support for minority scholarships, 15 point Prime Minister’s minority programme, minority entrepreneurship subsidy, subsidized minority loans for livelihood development and Minority Concentration District (MCD) development benefits.Extending the E-Helpdesk, the forum is about to launch a dedicated website and blog which would provide minority development programme information and timely support for accessing the benefits effectively and a time-bound manner along with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and procedural road-maps.“A major problem for the minority community is the lack of awareness and information about the minority programmes of the Government and how to access its benefits. We hope with greater awareness about this E-Helpdesk facility, the minority community would have quicker access to relevant information and documentation with regard to Government minority programmes.“We appreciate that many of the community members need simplification and query-handling during the process of availing the benefits from the Government programmes. This E-Helpdesk would help bridge that gap and hand-hold them for efficient availing of benefits,” said Forum president Sasmit Patra.
