Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Nov 10: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday took Prashant Dash, chairman and managing director of the city-based Seashore Group, to its custody to question him with regard to the mega chit fund scam in Odisha.The premier investigating agency got the businessman’s custody for 14 days after a local court allowed its request.Dash was remanded to CBI custody by the court after he was produced in the court by the Enforcement Directorate.The Directorate had earlier taken Dash into its custody for two weeks to interrogate him in connection with the transfer of huge amounts of money collected from the depositors to different places.The CBI had earlier a number of premises of the Seashore Group in different parts of Odisha, including the residence of Dash in Bhubaneswar.Dash was first arrested by the Odisha police for this alleged involvement in the mega chit fund scam in Odisha. The Naveen Patnaik Government had also signed several memoranda of understanding with the Seashore Group headed by Dash.But the MoUs were cancelled following unearthing of the scam.
