Odisha Channel Bureau Cuttack, Mar 3: Senior Biju Janata Dal MLA from Banki Pravat Tripathy, an accused in the mega chit fund scam, was granted bail by Orissa High Court here today.Tripathy was in judicial custody after he was arrested by the CBI on October 31 last year for alleged links with the Artha Tatwa Group, one of the prominent accused companies involved in the ponzi scam in Odisha.The Court ordered that Tripathy be released on bail on furnishing a bail bond of Rs.10 lakh and a surety of the like amount.The accused leader was also directed to surrender his passport to the CBI and cooperate with the investigation.The CBI has already filed a preliminary chargesheet in the case involving the AT Group.The head of AT Group Pradip Sethy is continuing to be in judicial custody since long.Finding itself in an embarrassing situation, the BJD had suspended Tripathy from the party soon after his arrest by the CBI.
