Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Dec 3: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday attached properties worth Rs.158 crore of the Seashore Group which is involved in the mega chit fund scam in Odisha.The properties that the Directorate attached include more than 100 acres of land in different parts of the State, 100 kg of silver, more than one kg gold, 10 flats and he Group’s corporate office in Bhubaneswar.The other properties attached include a flour mill at Barunei and an oil mill at Betanati in Mayurbhanaj district.The Directorate attached the properties under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.While the CBI has been investigating into the illegalities committed by the chit fund firms in collection of money from the people by assuring very high returns, the ED is proving into the ustilisation and laundering of the huge funds.Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Seashore Group Prashant Dash is in judicial custody after he was arrested in the cases relating to the chit fund scam.Dash was recently interrogated by the ED and subsequently by the CBI.
